Immerse for Schools

A New Way to Teach Bible

As a Bible teacher, do you ever feel like you spend a lot of time talking to students about Scripture and not enough time actually reading it?

Immerse For Schools provides tools and guidance for reorienting your classes around communal Bible reading and discussion, allowing students to be drawn into the transformative power of God’s Word.

“We’re halfway through Genesis and I’ve learned more about the Bible in two weeks than in all my years growing up in church and attending Christian school.”

Anna, Student

“I quickly realized that my students were encountering the Bible in a fresh way: as it was originally written and as it was meant to be experienced.”

Nathan Smith
Bible Teacher, South Christian High School

“The most fascinating thing I realized while reading is how much of a story the Bible truly is. There is so much development and character that goes unnoticed when reading the Bible as just a book of Religious Rules.”

Michael, Student

“As I watched the transformation unfold, it dawned on me that the kids weren’t just reading for a grade. They were reading to discover.”

Dr. Greg Tonkinson
Spiritual Life Director & Bible Teacher, Valley Christian HS

“Immerse has taken my classroom from a course about the New Testament to an invitation into a transformative relationship with God and others.”

Andrea Summers
New Testament Professor, Southern Wesleyan University

How Immerse Works

Immerse combines a Reader’s edition of the Bible with free-flowing community discussions about the text.

The 6-volume Immerse Bible contains the full text of the Bible (New Living Translation) without chapter or verse numbers, section headings, or footnotes. The distraction-free format helps students relax, focus, and become immersed in the stories and literature.

Rather than a system focused on finding answers, conversations are based on four open-ended prompts which encourage reflection, asking questions, wrestling with issues and celebrating ‘aha!’ moments together.

Using Immerse In the Classroom

Immerse was originally created for churches, but Christian schools around the country have begun using it as a central part of their Bible classes.

By shifting the focus to reading and discussing the text, students learn more, develop deeper connections with classmates, and truly enjoy their time spent in Scripture.

Immerse for Schools provides a suite of free resources to help you begin incorporating Immerse into your Bible class:
